Szu-Hsien Lee studied at National Taiwan Normal University and National Chiao Tung University before earning her Ph.D. in Music Composition and Theory from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is currently Professor of Music at National Sun Yat-sen University, where she teaches music theory and composition. Her creative work spans a variety of genres and media, including arranging, music for theater, and commercial music.
Her arrangement and production work for the Baroque Camerata on the album Splendor-When Western Baroque Meets Taiwanese Folk Songs was nominated for Best Crossover Album at the 2007 Golden Melody Awards. Her arrangement “Airplane Canon,” featured on the album Sweet Sweet Memory, was nominated for Best Arranger at the 2010 Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music. In 2024, her “Harpsichord Concerto – Classic Movies from Taiwanese Directors,” featured on the album Portrait Taiwan, received a nomination for Best Arrangement at the Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music.
