Bella Tang is Assistant Professor of Music at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan, where concurrent National Science and Technology Council and Ministry of Education grants support her artistic research on engagement with recorded legacies in higher music education. The model grew out of her doctoral work on the recordings of Dinu Lipatti, which received the highest presentation score at the 2022 AEC European Platform for Artistic Research in Music. She studied with Christopher Elton at the Royal Academy of Music, where she held a Full Entrance Scholarship and completed her BMus, MMus and PhD, receiving the DipRAM for her master’s recital. She also holds a PGCE from the UCL Institute of Education and UK Qualified Teacher Status. As a pianist, Tang has performed at Wigmore Hall, the National Concert Halls in Dublin and Taipei, ACT CITY Hamamatsu and the Philharmonie Haarlem, and appeared as an invited artist at the University of Leeds/ Leeds International Piano Competition, with performances broadcast on BBC television and radio. Her awards include first prizes at the Marco Fortini International Piano Competition and the Ealing Concerto Competition, and postgraduate awards from Help Musicians UK and the Craxton Memorial Trust.
