Oboe Performance at the University of Maryland, USA
Ms. Jui-Chi Chang is a Professor of Oboe at the National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She was born into a musical family and started her musical training at four—her father was an influential and well-known conductor and her mother is a piano teacher. Ms. Chang studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she obtained both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree under world-renowned oboist, Professor Burkhard Glaetzner. She then studied with Professor Mark Hill at the University of Maryland and earned her doctoral degree. Ms. Chang has been praised as an outstanding oboist with virtuosic brilliance.
Ms. Chang performs often as a soloist, chamber musician, and guest orchestra principal oboist. She has been invited to perform at concerts and music festivals throughout Europe, the United States, and Asia, and she has also hosted master classes and lectures in Germany, Japan, and the United States. From 1995 to 1997, Ms. Chang regularly performed with members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and she received critical acclaim: “Ms. Chang plays with a very flexible and warm tone, has superb technique, and possesses quite a musical personality.” With MUSIK-LIEBER in Japan Ms. Chang released her debut CD “The Romantic Virtuoso Oboe”.
