The Department of Music’s aim is to cultivate talent and humanistic literacy in various fields of music. Students are encouraged not only to develop competence and knowledge in Western classical music, but also to learn skills applicable to modern music (which is offered through the “Music Composition and Production” specialization).

To further foster students’ interdisciplinary education, the department offers integrated courses in art therapy, music management, and music instruction. This not only allows students to integrate their skills with medicine, management, and business, respectively, but also improves their competitive edge when entering the job market.

The department intends to achieve the following undergraduate educational goals through the core skills described as follows:

The aims of the Department of Music’s master’s program are to train graduate students in developing professional-level skills in performance (creation) and independent research skills, as well as encouraging students to cultivate a global, future-oriented perspective.

 

The department provides students with opportunities to develop professional-level competence by offering a variety of activities which allow students to accrue extensive and diverse performance experience. Through providing such activities, students develop an appreciation of the humanities via musical art, and expand their capabilities to conduct independent research through exposure to international outlooks.
